Five Finger Prayer

1. Thumb（拇指）

Your thumb is nearest to you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you.

They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C.S. Lewis once said, a "sweet duty".

拇指是最靠近我們的手指，所以開始為我們最親近的人禱告。這是很容易記得的部分，正如 C.S.Lewis曾經說，為我們所愛的人禱告是一件「甜美的工作」。

2. Pointing finger（食指）

The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers.

They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

食指是用來指示事物的手指，請為那些教導、醫治的人禱告，包括教師、醫生與牧者。他們需要支持與智慧以指示他人正確的方向。不要忘了為他們禱告。

3. Tallest finger（中指）

The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators.

These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.

下一個手指是中指（最高的手指），它提醒我們要為在上位者禱告，包括總統、企業領袖與主管。這些人塑造我們的國家與公眾意見，他們需要神的引導。

4. Ring finger（無名指）

The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is fact that this is our weakest finger; as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain.

They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.

第四個手指是無名指，許多鋼琴教師可以證實，它是我們最軟弱的手指，它提醒我們去為那些軟弱、或在痛苦困難中的人禱告。他們日日夜夜都需要我們的禱告，永遠不嫌多。

5. Little finger（小指）

And lastly comes our little finger; the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others.

As the Bible says, "the least shall be the greatest among you." Your pinky should remind you to pray for yourself.

By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

Remember to give thanks in all things and ask forgiveness. And pray to do God's will always!

最後是我們最小的手指，也是我們與神跟其他人關係之所在。正如聖經所說：「你們中間最小的，他便為大。」您的小指應該提醒您為自己禱告。當您為其他四組人禱告後，您較容易在適當的觀點下為自己的需要禱告。請牢記為所有的事物感恩及請求赦免，並永遠為實行神的旨意禱告。
